Role: Board-level IT Strategy and Cost Review Consultant, as a consulting subcontractor
Description: The executive group at a boutique global investment bank had implemented significant cost
reduction measures to better align the bank's cost structure with the increasingly competitive
investment banking marketplace. After this initiative, the Board retained us to review the organization
again to find any additional cost reduction opportunities that might be available, primarily in the areas of
general administration and information technology.
Outcome: Our review identified over $1M in additional annual cost saving opportunities primarily in the
information technology area. Specific IT recommendations were made that addressed strategy, infrastructure
and organizational design to realize these savings while minimizing implementation risk.
